Baccarat may be associated with high rollers, but it’s surprisingly simple to play, especially when you play online. In brick-and-mortar casinos, players take turns dealing to each other, but when you play online, that’s done automatically. All you have to do is place a bet on any of these three options: the Banker, the Player, and the Tie. Let’s go over how to do that in three easy steps.
- Step 1 : Know the Odds
Know the probability behind each of the three bets. Without knowing the odds, you’re betting blindly. To simplify things, we’ve calculated the odds for you. The odds below are based on six-deck baccarat – the same version used at Slots.lv.
Banker Probability: 45.87%
Player Probability: 44.63%
Tie Probability: 9.51%
- Step 2: Check the Payouts
Check the payouts for each betting option. It’s clear from the probabilities that the Banker has the best odds, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best bet.
Banker pays 19-20 (even-money minus a 5% commission)
Player pays even-money
Tie pays 9-1
- Step 3 : Place Your Bets
Place your bets (between $1 and $500), and hit “Deal.” Two cards are dealt to the Player and Banker automatically. If the Player’s hand is a 5 or below, the Player draws another card. The Banker’s actions depend on the Player’s and can be followed on the chart just below the game description. The side with the higher score wins, and if they tie, the Tie bet is declared winner. The result of each round is recorded in the chart on the left-side of the game screen.
Baccarat Scores And Hand Values
Although knowing the game’s hand values isn’t necessary to play, it’ll help you understand what’s happening in the game. The action moves pretty quickly, it can be hard to follow at first.
Face cards are worth zero, Aces are worth 1, and cards 2-9 are worth face value. When the hand adds up to two digits (10 and above), the first digit is discarded. For example, if the score is 12, the “1” is removed and the score becomes 2.
